Description

The Midwest Consortium for Service-Learning in Higher Education (MCSLHE) invites presenters and participants to its seventh annual conference on service-learning to be held October 1 - 2, 2010 on the campus of Doane College at Crete, Nebraska. The theme for this conference is "Transformational Service-Learning."

Conference sessions will highlight projects that illustrate how transformation can be an intended outcome of service-learning. Such projects might have elements of these components:

* start at the personal level and intentionally build toward change in one’s community, institution or the greater society
* reflect an emphasis on understanding structural inequities as a core outcome of the experience
* reflect an understanding of the complexity of social justice in the pursuit of change
* have as its vision social change through civic action
