Presents six case studies of community-university partnerships that regard technology as a new tool for addressing longstanding socioeconomic inequities. Discussions focus on each university's involvement in the life of its host community, a description of each IT initiative, and the conditions under which it evolved. Intended to stimulate ongoing dialogue around new opportunities for community capacity-building and help key community stakeholders develop mutually beneficial initiatives as well as plan for challenges that might arise.
